Glenn Miller — This is a scan of an article that was on eBay at one point a couple of years ago. I don’t recall what magazine it had been in, but if I were to guess it was probably either DownBeat or Metronome and judging from what’s talked about in the article it would’ve been sometime in 1940.

I physically have this issue and will scan in the various articles at a future date.
I also physically have this September 1944 issue of Band Leaders magazine but despite Glenn being on the cover, there is not a single word written about him in the magazine!
Speaking of magazine stories, Glenn and his band were featured on the covers of several music publications in the late 30′s/early 40′s. In mid-2007, several reproduction cover photos were available on eBay.
